Rainbow birthday parties are the best! We had one this summer for my niece. I made a rainbow cake so when you cut into it it had all the different color layers…It was very cool!…love the sparkly painted face!
yay, fun! i made some rainbow cookies and cupcakes for otis’s birthday. the cookies were a bit of work, but a huge hit. if i were to do it again, i’d make an enormous rainbow layer cake rather than cupcakes since you can see the rainbow so much better.
if you think you need another laborious project (ha!), the cookies are here:

I love this! I look for any reason at all to do crazy fun eyes on my daughter and her friends at her birthday parties…alas, she is a preteen and is not so into it anymore. Thank the good Lord above that I have another daughter and can throw many more parties which celebrate fun over the top eyes ; ) I never did a rainbow party, I did a pink one, a five star party, disco/salon party, and a mock slumber. All of those allowed me to paint the eyes. I think I might have to remember this wonderful post of yours when my youngest (now 1) reaches an age when this would be fun. Thank you for the pictures and the idea!
:-)
Oh, wow! LOVE that face paint!
Rainbows are everywhere this season! Can’t wait to see what you have going on in that first photo. Have a great party!
dying to see what you come up with–this is so after my boy’s own heart with his love all things bright and multi-colored, but I think he has already selected the theme for his next birthday shindig (a good six months in advance)–wizards. I think making rainbow party stuff would be a lot more fun…
for fun! will there be rainbow cake? i’ve always wanted to try one of those but never been brave enough.
She looks adorable! I am definitely looking forward to seeing all the great ideas you have for the party!
Lovely! And thanks for posting Work in Progress photos — so nice to know that these beautiful things don’t just magically appear on your blog.
I love to see the process. Thank you for sharing it with us.
