Still truckin along with crochet. These little scrubbers work up super quick and they work! I have a problem with sponges and their nastiness (but obviously I have no problem with my sink being nasty and dirty. The anal retentive midwestern in me need to break out the old toothbrush and scrub scrub scrub). I found the pattern in the vast ravelry sea, I think. It’s not worked in a circle, which is good for me because circular crochet still eludes me. You can find the pattern here. I think they will make great stocking stuffers, if not the most exciting ones. The japanese have of course made a cute artform out of the lowly scrubbie–the tawashi–and now that I’ve made one I want to make them all!

Thank you, I completely forgot about these and now that I have learned some basic crochet, this is a must do. I think I shall start one this evening.
I love reading about all the crocheting you’ve been doing! I’ve been doing some more myself lately, especially for gifts. I’m definitely going to make some of these to use up all that not so soft acrylic yarn I have. Thanks for the link!
I need to learn to read a pattern! I know several stitches, but can’t figure out any patterns to put them all together.
i have made these out of nylon net……just cut some strips and crochet away. the net is great at scrapping the crud off of dishes and it dries faster than yarn. but i love them because of the fact they don’t get that nasty smell. not a professional crocheter myself. i think this year i might put one on Christmas packages instead of bows!!!

Those dish scrubbies all look great, i would love to make one but i am still struggling with crochet and counting stitches. Wish they were knitted!

loving your crochet posts. i’ve been trying to learn to knit, but already mastered crochet years ago. thinking I need to get back to what i can do instead of frustrating myself with what i can’t. Plus love these scrubbies. I have similar sponge issues. Seems like these would make a fun housewarming gift paired with some homemade cleaner (vinegar and essential oil, etc.).
