summer journal: finish the picture
July 5th, 2013
Super simple and super fun project. Cut out a square of a picture from a magazine or newspaper. Next, glue it to a piece of paper. Then finish the drawing. See what strange and hilarious things come out of it! Title of my children’s works appear below the pictures. (please excuse the crummy phone photos.)

Have you done any good projects lately?
Posted in kid art, summer journal.
This is awesome! And totally modern art. We might have to do that this afternoon. It’s real darn hot here and we are stuck inside.
this is a stuck inside and need a project now! kind of project.
Good idea, Meg. I think my kids would love this activity, let’s see… Thanks for sharing!
I don’t have any kids, but I would love to play in such journal myself. It looks super cute, just like the super cute cat!
I definitely had a great time doing it myself!
How could any projects I do be better than drawing people with their heads on fire?? How awesome!
fantastic! I love all the doodle coloring books where they give you a little pic to start with then you finish. But I never thought to make my own! Great idea!
I am in love with pretty darn cute cat! This is rad! We spent hours making cork boats complete with decorated sails and cork people, I’m not sure who was more into it, my three year old or me :)
superb! going to try this out with the kiddos tomorrow…thanks for sharing
Hands down my favorite here is Alligator loves his new pants. Hee.
What a brilliant project idea- must remember for the future.
this is a great idea!! I like the cat’s pretty pink diaper! ;)
this looks SO fun! every time I think that about something it’s pretty much a disaster with my kids, but I’m going to try this anyway. even if they don’t want to play along, I’m going to finish some picutures. ^_^
I LOVE this! And I just updated my feedly with your feed – for some reason I haven’t been getting it!
wow! I remember doing this in art class at high school! What a great activity for the little ones!
