belt giveaway *giveaway closed*
February 18th, 2010
Wow! There has been such an amazing response to the boy belt tutorial! I think there must be a lot of boys out there running around with their pants falling down–no more!
To thank you for all your kind words and links I thought I’d giveaway a few of the belts I made, because as you can see they are not keeping any pants up around here. The skinny plaid one and the wider wood grain belt are up for grabs (for a better picture look here). If you’d like to enter tell me a funny story about a little boy you know–a brother, a son, the crazy little boy down the street. There is always one who tried to fly from on top of the refrigerator or covered himself in crisco or skiied down the basement stairs. If you can’t think of a story, just tell me which one you’d like. And if you’d like to be entered twice you can subscribe to my blog (and tell me in your comment) or link to the belt tutorial on your blog or tweet it. Or all three if you’d like, but I’ll only love you more–just 2 entries max per person! I will pick two winners (pick a winner!) on Monday morning, February 22 CST. Good luck!
I also subscribed to your blog.
I LOVE your blog and, as a mom of two little guys, I am LOVING this month of the boy! I didn’t technically subscribe, but I added you to my Google Reader–does that count? And either belt would be fine with me–they are both great. thanks!
The skinny plaid one would look adorable on my nephew!
I like the plaid belt. Here’s a funny story:

With three boys I have no excuse of not having funny boy stories, but I can’ think of one good one. My DH did get a chuckle the time our oldest (the resident tattle-tale) came to our bedroom to tell us that our middle boy was out of bed. He screamed from his bed, “Don’t tell them, don’t tell them!”. Not sure how he thought that was going to keep him from getting in trouble! They are always saying things that make me laugh, but most of them aren’t the kind of things you can quote…you have to be there!
I have a little boy who loves to “go to the airporn and see the horse statues with their eyes demon lighted.”
See if you can figure that one out? haha
aaaand..I’ve added you to my google reader.
love the wood grain one!!
…And now I blogged-ed about it:

My little man is constantly cracking me up..he is just at that age. He recently told his father that they couldn’t drop me off to “pick up my car” because it was “too heavy.” :) I would absolutely love the plaid one for him.
Your belt tutorial is awesome! We could use some belts, my son’s pants just won’t stay up.
Funny story: My son (3) is in a questioning stage. Yesterday he walked into the bathroom where my husband had just stepped out of the shower and I hear from the other room “Daddy do you have a big butt?”
I follow you on google reader…does that count? :)
I love love the plaid one. Very cute. My funny story is about a little boy I taught art lessons to. Right around the Presidential Inauguration, he told me how much he loved Obama. Later on, we were making a life size cut out from butcher paper and he asked me if we could make him into Obama. So we added a tie–and he became Obama. Later the little boy dropped a red marker on the cut out—and he said it was Obama after he had eaten. Cute!
w/ 4 boys the stories are too numerous to pick one! Ethan (boy no. 3) latest is “you didnt see me do it”…as in “i didnt do it unless you see it”. haha…to which i reply (jokingly of course) “i have eyes in the back of my head”. i just sub’d so i could be entered twice…love these belts but scared of trying the snaps. :)
My son has an obsession with shoes and frequently will wear mine around the house. Well, I had to go to the store and had to get out of the house right then in order to get everything done that day. Said son was wearing a pair of my heels and refused to put his own shoes on. So he wore the heels to the store. I got a lot of funny looks but I just decided that that was not one of the battles worth fighting.
That wood belt is rockng my world!

When I was at church on Sunday, the little boy sitting in front of us was very squirmy; he managed to get out of his dad’s lap and started running away down the aisle. When his dad caught him, he yelled “DAMMIT!”… echoing throughout the chapel.
It made my Sunday.
I like the plaid belt more, but both are adorable!
Just got finished potty training so of course all the stories I can think of are related to this momentous (and it truly is) event.
I heard a noise in my kitchen upon checking it out i discovered my son swimming naked in a “wet puddle”….breath i tell myself…..”son, what are you doing”..”im swimming in water mama”…”hmmm I don’t think that’s water”…he looks down..”nope, it’s pee pee” and just keeps right on swimming.
by the way I love both belts :)
My son is 19 months old and he cracks us up all the time. The funniest thing he does is dance. He looks like a robot when he dances. He would look adorable in the plaid belt.
I also subscribed to your blog!
The other day my 6 year old son comes into my bedroom and says, “Mom, are these my jeans?” I look over at him and he is standing there sans shirt wearing his 4 year old sister’s slim flare jeans! They were SO tight and even had little rhinestones on the back pockets! I laughed so hard – and so did he! :)
This story is about my husband, so I’m not sure if it counts but I’m telling it anyway. He grew up in Queens, New York, in an apartment building. He and his older brother were about 5 and 6 years old when they decided to put on their superman halloween costumes and climb out the window onto a ledge (not a balcony or a fire escape, mind you, a *ledge*). Their mother was walking home from work and looked up to see her two little boys bravely perched on the ledge three stories off the ground. At that point I think they had the sense to scramble back inside.
I already subscribe to your blog :)
I have an almost-2-year-old, who has numerous nicknames. Two of the most used are “Trouble” and “The Destroyer”. He has proven to be completely different than my 2 girls, in good ways and very naughty ways :) A specific story? Every day is adventure, so I can’t think of a specific one. But he has recently learned to undress himself–at inopportune times, too–so a PLAID BELT would be every so helpful right about now!
THANKS!
I am now a blog follower as well! Thanks for the tutorial!
I love the plaid belt!
C is the cutest thing ever and the best was a day he was upset and wanted us all to know he was stomping around on the hardwood floor barefoot after a few mins he stopped and dad asked did that hurt your feet, c started laughing so hard he forgot why he was upset!
I love the ribbon one! I have a precious three year old that is ALL boy and skinny as a bean–he could definitely use a belt. The “funny” thing he is doing now is telling everyone whether or not what they are eating is healthy (and yes, this includes people waiting in line at Starbucks, shopping at the grocery, etc.)
My son will be 7 in March. My 2 daughters are 3 and 20 months.
Last night DS put my tank around DD2’s neck and said it was her cape. They all ran around with capes on ’til dinner.
Just now he tied her arms and brought her to me saying “I’m Batman and I caught Joker!” And DD1 brings me her cape telling DS she’s going to be “Batman Girl.”
