breakfast and lunch
January 13th, 2011
breakfast: strawberries picked by my kids this summer, warmed with some brown sugar and poured over hot oatmeal. It was like summer and winter all rolled into one.
lunch: cloud sandwiches. A friend brought over some beautiful challah he baked, so we made cloud sandwiches–no cutter required.
p.s. I updated the short list (of links) on the right–take a peek.

That looks lovely! Were the strawberries canned or frozen?
frozen! and they were delicious!
Can’t beat challah. Just sayin’ :-)
OK, I am now hungry for breakfast! If I am expecting my fourth child, does that mean I can go make some oatmeal with blueberries this late at night? I froze fresh picked ones this summer too! No strawberries are left around here though lol.
what fun! been away for weeks, what a lovely re-design to come back to. looking forward to poking around.
a very happy new year to you, meg.

what the heck is a cloud sandwich?
you know, a sandwich shaped like a cloud (duh).
Oh, it looks so divine! It is always a joy to stop by in this lovely space of yours. The new layout is perfect too! All the best…a
I completely forgot about the jars of u-pick strawberries I stashed in the freezer! It’s never very wintery here (austin) but I should totally be eating them in January.
I’ll be checking the bread in the bins tomorrow for cloud-worthiness…
