kcwc: day seven

I’m have to apologize for the unfinished (can’t find the buttons), wrinkled (I can’t find my iron either) shirt and the model’s obviously slept in braids. It’s Sunday morning and we are all a bit lazy.
I wanted to make this shirt (from Happy Homemade vol.2 again) because I remembered I had picked up some awesome vintage trim that would be perfect for the little tab in the middle. So I bought the pretty blue corduroy and sewed the shirt up, then tore my studio up trying to find the trim (maybe the shirt has the power to hide things). I gave up, decided I must have given it away and used an old plaid shirt instead. Last night I started on an old crochet project and there in my bag full of yarn was the ribbon.
I still haven’t found the buttons, but maybe they are hiding with the iron in the refridgerator.

I REALLY loved this challenge. It was great to think about the day, and decide when I was going to fit in time to sew. Thanks for sharing this great challenge, and for all the cute clothes you shared as well.
I’m really enjoying this challenge. I’m a bit behind but I plan to finish up this week. Thanks for helping me get rid of my fabric stash and finally make my girls some clothes.

I felt really inspired after seeing everyone’s items that they had worked on. I joined in as my schedule allowed, kinda failed but it got me to get my sewing machine out and I plan to try the same project again until I get it right!
I had a great time! Thanks for organizing this. My favorite thing about the challenge week was looking at what everyone else was doing and filling up my idea list! Very cute Etsy shop. Love the folk calendars.

Well, I’ve been off camping for the last half of the week so unfortunately I missed the last few giveaway opportunities. However, I did just want to comment and say thanks! It was a blast. I finished 2 dresses (1 posted, 1 to be posted) and made huge progress on knitting a 3rd dress. After all, I wasn’t going to bring the sewing machine with me to the camp site. I think I’m going to go back this week and embellish the sewn dresses I made too! The best part is that the event got me going. I used to sew a ton, but have been out of practice for some time. It was nice to have a deadline and to force myself to start up again because I really do enjoy it. I just needed a little kick start.
I loved this week, looking at what some of the people made. And if you ever have a week like this again, you can count me in. Tone from Norway
