kids clothes week spring 2011
April 14th, 2011
Spring is here and my kids have no clothes to wear. Well not really, but definitely not enough cute, springtime ones. KCWC to the rescue! If you have no idea what I’m talking about, that is completely understandable. KCWC stands for Kids Clothes Week Challenge. It’s one week (I’m sure you figured that out) where we commit to sew one hour a day for 7 days. Sewing clothes, of course, for our kids! Or other people’s kids, but not your inner child and absolutely not your canine child.
Sound good? Want to make a big pile of little skirts and dresses and shorts and bow ties? Because a lot can happen in a week if you put in a little time each day. And with hundreds of people sewing along with you and cheering you on, well, you can’t help but make great stuff! So leave a comment on this post to tell me you are in! Then grab a button and post it on your blog (if you’ve got one) to spread the word. You can even head over to the elsiemarley flickr group to check out past KCWC and join so you can post for this one.
If you’d like to know a little more about KCWC, hop on over to the FAQ page. Then hop back here and sign up!

I am soo excited to try this! I just discovered how much fun sewing clothes can be.
Yes! I have been sewing much more since I took part in last fall’s KCWC – it definitely gave me the nudge that I needed. So I’m in again!
I am totally in!
Ok, im in, a bit nevous about it but i will try.
Elisabet
would love to be apart of this this year!
I discovered your blog last spring right after kcwc– then in the fall I tuned in right after it again! This time I’m going to try to participate, even though I will probably have to ignore my family and my household responsibilities to do so…
Yes! I’m in! I can’t wait, woohoo!
I’m so In!! I loved participating in the fall, and have been waiting for the next :)
sounds like fun! i’m in!!!
So excited!
It’s been spring here in Central Texas for at least a month, and this is the post I’ve been waiting to see since February! I am so in!
this is gonna be fun! just finished Easter outfits for the grands and this will get me going for other things I want to make for them.. yay!!!
Just up my alley, something to organize my time and help me work through some of my fabric, tutorials and patterns. Sounds great!
i’m in i’m in i’m in….
i’m super excited about it!
SO there! My older boy just this very minute has outgrown ALL his pants.
Well, I did this last year but only ended up with one dress and a pitiful amount of blogging to show for it (on the other hand my daughter and I were just talking about how she might wear it to church for Easter Sunday so we’ve got a lot of mileage out of it).
Anyway, I’d really like to resurrect my blog and get up into my sewing room again; so many things I want to make for my girls that just haven’t been happening so this would be a good push in the right direction.
Last year I managed to make one pair of pajamas. But I’ll toss my hat into the ring again — why not? Hopefully the weather will cooperate and I’ll be all set to sew! Goodness knows my kids need clothes and I need to get reacquainted with my sewing machine. Yay!
I am definitely in. Must start planning now.
I’m in. And looking forward to it. Tone
Well, you know I’m in. I’ve gotten a pitiful amount of sewing done lately so it will be nice to get some items made. The kids are going to be naked soon If I don’t get some projects completed.
I’m up for the challenge! Looking forward to the imposed discipline.
Perfect timing, looking forward to May!
I am in. I love sewing kids clothes. Whether they need them or not:)
I’m in again this year for sure!
I’m in! The timing is perfect, I’m doing a big push of projects for a mom2mom sale I have a table at on the 7th (and then afterwards it all goes on etsy) but yet I have a bunch of projects I want to do for my girls as well. So, I’ll pump out my shop stuff for now and then do at least an hour a day for my girls after! Very nice.
