kids clothes week spring 2012
March 21st, 2012
Spring has sprung and that means it’s time again for kcwc! Kids Clothes Week Challenge is a bi-annual event here on elsie marley where I challenge you to sew one hour a day, each day for 7 days. The idea is that we all have the urge to sew clothes for our children, but we don’t always give ourselves the time to do it. If you commit to sitting in front of your sewing machine, or tracing patterns, or cutting fabric, for one hour each day, then at the end of the week you will have some very well dressed kids. And a very proud mama (or papa) too!
All you need to do to sign up is leave a comment on this post. If you would like to know more about kcwc you can check out the kcwc faq page. You can also head to the elsie marley flickr group to check out creations from kcwc past or see all my posts on kcwc here.
If you would like to sponsor elsie marley during kcwc, I would love to have you! Kcwc has become wonderfully successful, so much so that traffic to this little blog doubles during kcwc month! Sponsor spots go up a bit in price ($40) but it’s totally worth it. Drop me a line if you’d like to get in on the action. elsiemarleyblog@gmail.com
Okay! leave a comment and sign up! spread the word! and sew like crazy!

I am in for sure!! I will make time to get all the ‘maybe tomorrow’ stuff done this week! Can’t wait :)
[…] Och då kan man behöva en liten spark i baken för att komma igång igen. En sådan fann jag idag: Kids clothes week spring 2012. […]
I am an avid up-cycler. I love to come up with alterations and accessories to give my daughter a unique wardrobe while utilizing cast off clothing in most of my creations. We ate now expecting our second child, and just found out he is a boy! I have several adult t-shirts with fun logos that I plan to remake into rompers and infant gowns for him. I also really want to fashion sime coordinaring sibling wear, some items featuring the baby’s bame, and a “big sister” logo shirt for my daughter. This week should provide the push to get going!
I have just deactivated my facebook acct so i easily have an hour a day to start up my love of sewing after a big break! cannot wait to sew something for each of my 3 children xxx thanks for the encouragement and inspiration!
Yes. I will do it!
I’m in, but I’m nervous, I hope I can do it. But I have a few projects I have been meaning to do, and also a few projects to finish. Thanks for organizing!
I’m in too. I missed the last one so am looking forward to getting sewing again this time around.
I’m joining in for the first time. It will be interesting to see what I get done.
machine, tick

I always think I will join in – and this time I am!
Nothing very exciting planned – but some necessary basics to be made, thanks for inspiring me to get moving.
Okay, I think I will give it a go! Might not get much finished as I will have to limit myself to the hour, but anything is better tan nothing. I have some promised things I really need to get to, so this might be the push I need!
Excited to give this a try! I have twin toddler daughters who are growing like weeds, a few new LBB patterns and a stack of knit shirts to repurpose – let’s go!
I’m going to participate! I have several things I’ve been needing to sew for my 7-month-old, but haven’t found the time. I’ll get them done this week!
Count me in! What a great idea.
I would love to be in! This sounds like so much fun!
I am definitely in! I’m glad I saw this it should be fun:)

I’m getting my Oliver and S Little Things book in the mail tomorrow and plan on starting a cape for my daughter and the explorer vest for my son so this is perfect timing!
I’m in. I’m very slow, but maybe I can get one or two things made. Finish off some chopped off pants to shorts and a pillowcase dress, perhaps?
I am in!!!! Should be the motivation I need to get some clothes done for my daughter before she goes back to school for winter! Very exciting
Im in and cant wait..
