kids clothes week spring 2012
March 21st, 2012
Spring has sprung and that means it’s time again for kcwc! Kids Clothes Week Challenge is a bi-annual event here on elsie marley where I challenge you to sew one hour a day, each day for 7 days. The idea is that we all have the urge to sew clothes for our children, but we don’t always give ourselves the time to do it. If you commit to sitting in front of your sewing machine, or tracing patterns, or cutting fabric, for one hour each day, then at the end of the week you will have some very well dressed kids. And a very proud mama (or papa) too!
All you need to do to sign up is leave a comment on this post. If you would like to know more about kcwc you can check out the kcwc faq page. You can also head to the elsie marley flickr group to check out creations from kcwc past or see all my posts on kcwc here.
If you would like to sponsor elsie marley during kcwc, I would love to have you! Kcwc has become wonderfully successful, so much so that traffic to this little blog doubles during kcwc month! Sponsor spots go up a bit in price ($40) but it’s totally worth it. Drop me a line if you’d like to get in on the action. elsiemarleyblog@gmail.com
Okay! leave a comment and sign up! spread the word! and sew like crazy!

I am definitely in! I was just looking up the posts from last spring to see when it might be! I have been into refashioning lately, and I plan to make some kids clothes from some adult clothes my husband and I are tired of. Of course, I will also sew some things from scratch, too. I can’t wait!
I am always thrilled about this! I get so many great Ideas! One of these times I will actually work each and every day. Usually I pull 2 or 3 late late late nights. This is so fun!
Sign me up! I work a 50 hour week and commute 2 hours a day on top of that, so I need the motivation sometimes to get my craft/sew on versus just slumping on the couch in front of the TV after the babe is in bed. I think this will keep me accountable and hopefully I will have some cute outfits for the boy finished at the end! This will be my first KCWC! Oh, I am in Australia, so for me, this will be an Autumn/Winter edition :)
I am in!

Yay! I have been waiting for this announcement. Grand sewing plans this year and good to have an extra push!
I have always wanted to do this but never thought I had time. I still think I don’t have time but I’m just going to sign up anyway and sew something. Which is much better than what I have been doing.
Count me in! Have some great ideas for grandaughter’s summer outfits…Abby Rose Clothes!
me too! this will really help me establish my sewing mojo, which has only just shed its baby weight, 21 months down the line. planning commences this weekend :D
I will be taking part for sure. I really want to get a jump on my girls summer clothes!
I am really excited for KCWC. I have a few projects in the works and a few more milling around in my head. This is just the motivation I need to actually get things done. I look forward to seeing everyone else’s projects too.
Love it! I’m in!
Yay! I’ve been looking forward to this!
I’m in – the kids are already growing out of the last year’s stuff and it’s about time that I gave myself permission to spare the time for some sewing.
Oh yes! Three very scruffy kids in need of new threads! Can’t wait.
Been promising/threatening to make my daughter clothes since I was pregnant. I now have a 10 month old girl running round and no sewing commenced…roll on 23 April!
