peach pie

September 10th, 2009

peach and creme fraiche pie to be exact. It was made and already eaten–pie is just so good for breakfast. Though this pie wasn’t quite as good as I thought it would be. It was pretty damn tasty, don’t get me wrong, but the streusel didn’t really do it for me. There should have been more crunch to it. Next time I’ll add some chopped almonds or something else to give it more dimension. Because as it stands this pie is all creamy and softy peachy goodness, which sure as hell ain’t bad.

Mmmm. I made kind of a disastrous-looking peach pie a couple of weeks ago, but it still tasted fab u lous.
    This looks delish!

Yum! Sounds good just the way it is! What is that chippy lovliness beneath the dish there? I have burner covers for the stove that look similar. :)

Nuts. Now I have to make a pie. :-) We don’t get many peaches around here so I usually use nectarines and leave a bit of skin on – it adds pinky flecks. If they’re handy, I add fresh strawberries, too.

late congratulations and what a gorgeous pie! so great that you’re taking time for yourself to do stuff you want like bake and sew. when my son was 3 weeks old or so my in-laws (who, thanks god were around the first 5 weeks) thought I was nuts when they came by and I was baking gingersnaps while the baby slept. I was craving sweet carbs (nursing mom) and to make something with my hands. You make taking care of such small ones actually seem doable! Take care.

Hello, Meg! Just dropping you a quick one to let you know you won the Mamachee pattern from my blog! If you would send me your email address, I will gladly forward it to Tara, so that she can send you the pattern for the cozy mittens. Thanks so very much for playing along! Hope all is well with you and your sweet small people!
    Best,
    Amy
